'Awe' may or may not be novel (we will know it when it releases), but one thing is for sure. It being a heroine-oriented movie, it's already 'awe'-some by itself. Kajal Aggarwal, Nithya Menon, Reginal Cassandra and Eesha Rebba (too?) are playing prominent roles in this anthology. Avasarala Srinivas, Murali Sharma, Priyadarshi and other actors are no star faces like Kajal and Nithya. This is what makes it heroine-centric, although all these faces may have an equally important place in the movie.

However, the film has reportedly excused itself from the February 2 race, as 'Touch Chesi Chudu' and 'Chalo' are in the fray. Ravi Teja's arrival has seemingly pushed the heroine-centric 'Awe' indefinitely.

For those of you who are votaries of equalitarianism in the film industry, this is bad news. In an ideal world, 'Awe' should have had nothing to fear on any Friday, given its seemingly intriguing premise. But then, across India, hero-oriented mass entertainers continue to have an edge.
