Superstar Rajinikanth, after the setback to his health a few years back, is prone to infections. He has been advised to avoid crowds. He shot for a few weeks continuously in a crowded place in Mumbai for 'Kaala', directed by Pa. Ranjith. As per doctors's advice, Rajini has flown to America for a medical checkup.

Aishwarya R Dhanush has accompanied her father to Chicago where, after his medical checkup, the duo will stay in the Dayanadha Saraswathi Ashram for a couple of weeks.
