Why PM Modi should develop Bhadrachalam Temple on the lines of Ayodhya Ram Mandir

The Ayodhya Ram Mandir Pran Pratishta unfolded as a monumental and spiritually profound event, drawing the participation of numerous celebrities in a spectacular ceremony. However, a surprising omission occurred when the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust overseeing the event reportedly failed to extend an invitation to the Sri Seetha Ramachandra Swamy Devasthanam in Bhadrachalam, causing dismay among devotees.

The exclusion of the Bhadrachalam Devasthanam, guardian of the Bhadradri Temple and often referred to as Dakshin Ayodhya, is disheartening. Despite Prime Minister Modi and state BJP leaders championing the concept of a Double Engine Sarkar, they overlooked the significance of Bhadrachalam. This comes even though all the North devotes know “Ayodhya me janme Ramji, Bhadrachal aagaye Sri Ram Ji,” the beginning verse of the song draws a parallel between Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh and the Bhadrachalam temple, popularly known as south Ayodhya.

This incident has cast a shadow over the Devasthanam, which holds immense importance as a popular pilgrimage site for Lord Rama devotees. The temple's historical connection to Lord Rama's 14-year exile at Parnasala near Bhadrachalam adds to its significance.

While major temples like Kashi Vishwanath and Vaishno Devi received invitations, the omission of Bhadrachalam Devasthanam has sparked discontent among devotees. The starting verse of a popular song aptly draws a parallel between Ayodhya and Bhadrachalam, emphasizing their spiritual equivalence.

In response, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy shared his perspective on the contrasting significance of Ayodhya's Ram Temple and the Sita Ramachandraswamy Temple in Bhadrachalam. Reddy, a regular visitor to the latter, expressed his intention to visit Ayodhya, emphasizing the comparable spiritual essence of both temples.

Shifting focus to the enchanting town of Bhadrachalam, it unveils the revered Sita Ramachandraswamy Temple, often dubbed the Ayodhya of the South. This Hindu sanctuary dedicated to Lord Rama and Sita weaves a rich tapestry of devotion, legends, and spiritual heritage.

Why PM Modi should develop Bhadrachalam Temple on the lines of Ayodhya Ram Mandir

Bhadrachalam stands as a sacred bastion of Rama worship, echoing tales of devotion and sacrifice. The temple's construction or renovation by Kancherla Gopanna, affectionately known as Bhadrachala Ramadasu, is a testament to unwavering love for Rama despite facing imprisonment for utilizing treasury funds.

The tale of Bhakta Ramadasu, unfolding in the 17th century, reveals his transformative journey from humble beginnings to becoming a devoted tahsildar. Ramadasu's imprisonment became a period of musical devotion, where he composed soul-stirring songs, known as Ramadasu Keertanalu, expressing love for Rama and seeking divine mercy.

The Sita Ramachandraswamy Temple in Bhadrachalam symbolizes the divine connection between Lord Rama and the town, often referred to as a replica of Ayodhya. Kancherla Gopanna's devotion and sacrifice have forever intertwined Bhadrachalam with the spiritual legacy of Rama worship.

The temple's architectural splendor, following the traditions of the Ranganathaswamy temple in Srirangam, Tamil Nadu, creates an atmosphere steeped in spirituality. Bhadrachalam, hailed as the Ayodhya of the South, transcends being a mere town; it's a sanctuary where the legacy of devotion continues to resonate through time, inviting all to experience the divine embrace of Sita and Rama in every stone and note of Ramadasu's Keertanalu.
