At a time when Rahul Gandhi has been grilled by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with a money laundering case linked to the National Herald newspaper, Telangana Minister KT Rama Rao has asked why neither Prime Minister Narendra Modi nor industrialist Adani respond when serious allegations are made about wind power contracts by Sri Lankan officials.
In his tweet on Thursday, the TRS leader said that the Opposition leaders all over India are routinely targeted and subjected to grilling by the ED, the CBI and the Income-Tax department. "But when senior Sri Lankan government officials directly accuse the PM of India of his involvement in wind power contracts, neither Pradhani nor Adani respond! Deafening silence from media! (sic)," KTR wrote.
KTR also shared a tweet made by activist and lawyer Prashant Bhushan regarding the allegations. "The chairman of Sri Lanka’s state-owned Ceylon Electricity Board accused Modi of pressuring Sri Lankan govt over the allotment of a wind power project to the Adani group," Bhushan wrote.
KTR also questioned PM Modi as to what happened to the promise of creating two crore jobs every year if he came to power.
