Is it the ‘bade bhaiya’ effect or something else.. The Bachchans who wrote poetry on Nirbhaya and shed tears in parliament during the protests that followed the death of 'Nirbhaya' last year are conspicuous by their silence on Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh's remark over rape that has come under fire from all corners of the society including Ayesha Takia daughter - in law of Abu Azmi leader of Mulayam Singh Yadav’s Samajwadi Party.

The proximity of Bachchans towards the Samajwadi Party is well known but the entire nation looks upon Bachchan’s as their biggest icon and expect them to set example and come out with their reaction to such shameless comment on woman made by Samajwadi Party leaders.

Mulayam Singh on Thursday said that it was wrong to give capital punishment to rapists and further added "Ladkon se aisi galtiyan ho jaati hain to iska ye matlab nahin ki phaansi de di jaye (Boys do make such mistakes but that does not mean that they should be hanged),"

Abu Azmi went steps further and said any woman who has sex outside marriage should be hanged, including rape victims.

Bachchans please speak on this.. are issues relating women below party lines.. Jaya Bachchan is a Samajwadi Party member and Rajya Sabha M.P.
