Actress Amy Jackson, who landed an opportunity to share screen space with superstar Rajinikanth as the female lead in Robo 2.0, cleared the air about her role in the film. Reports were doing rounds that Amy is playing the role of a Robo in this sci-fi thriller directed by Shankar. Refuting the reports, Amy stated that she is not playing a robo and insisted that there is no truth in the news before terming it as a rumour.

The actress also asserted that she will be seen in an altogether different role in this film and is not at liberty to share the details at this stage. "Well, I can't reveal much about my role and the film right now. Director Shankar will kick me out of the project if I share any detail pertaining to our film. All I can say is it's not a Robo and is going to be a contrasting one to my previous films," said Amy, laughing. Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar is playing the baddie in this film which is currently progressing in Chennai. Subaskaran Allirajah of Lyca Productions is bankrolling the film.
