A while ago, it was confirmed that a biopic on former Indian cricket team skipper Sourav Ganguly is in development. This was super exciting for cinephiles and cricket fans alike. Now, that the project has been confirmed, question arises that who should play the iconic cricketer in the biopic ? According to ongoing rumors, Ranbir Kapoor seems to be the front-runner and many people including Dada himself support this casting.

However, there are people who want to see Bengali actor Parambrata Chatterjee in the lead role. He was seen alongside Vidya Balan in the film 'Kahaani'. Talking about the casting of the film, Ganguly said, "It is a creative call. The makers will sit and finalise the script and then they will cast. Ranbir Kapoor too can play the role but it's the decision of the makers."

Actor Hrithik Roshan's name was also doing rounds for the role of Dada. Ganguly responded to this is a joking manner. He said, "But he’s got to get a body like me, first. Lot of people would say the way Hrithik’s body is, how good-looking he is, and how muscular he is, people would say ‘Aree, you’ll have to get a body like Hrithik’. But, Hrithik will have to get a body like me before he starts."
