An associate of Shekhar Kammula, Anish Kuruvilla debuted as a director with 'Aavakai Biryani', in the production of Shekhar Kammula, with Kamal Kamaraju and debutante Telugu girl Bindhu Madhavi in the lead cast.

Although, the movie started off with mixed reviews, it gradually moved to average and is now successfully running in theatres. On knowing Bindhu’s passion for Pawan Kalyan and Mahesh babu, director Shekhar Kammula promised to get her the autographs of Pawan and Mahesh after the release of 'Aavakai Biryani'.
