Chiyaan Vikram is more than two decades old in the film industry and it is a known story how he struggled for about nine years to establish himself as an actor. And after 'Sethu' there has been no looking back whatsoever for this ace star.
Vikram is credited mainly because of his choice of roles as they cater to a variety of audience and one movie doesn't really remind you of another of his films. His characters in films like 'Sethu', 'Kasi', 'Samurai', 'Pithamagan', 'Anniyan', 'Kanthaswamy', and 'Ravanan' are all poles apart and the actor has successfully gotten into the skin of the roles in each of these landmark films.
His latest offering as Krishna in 'Deiva Thirumagal' is only another feather to his cap, where he plays an adult with a mental maturity of a five year old. He fights a legal battle to reunite with his daughter, and praises are pouring in from critics and fans about the star's performance. Vikram researched intensely for months and spent time at Pathway, a school for the mentally challenged to pull off this role.
So who inspires Vikram to don a variety of roles that extremely differ from one another and whose films motivate Chiyaan to not just concentrate on mass films? Chiyaan Vikram recently acknowledged that Malayalam superstar Mammootty is the hero who inspires Vikram to choose a variety of roles and not just concentrate on hero centric films. Mammootty has done a number of roles in Tamil as well.
And at the same time, we must remember that his commercial mass entertainers like 'Gemini', 'Saamy,' 'Dhool' were all super hits as well.
Way to go Vikram! Do post in your comments about what you think about Vikram's performance in 'Deiva Thirumagal' as Krishna and we'll make sure the star gets a glimpse of the same...
