If the title Kanchanamala Cable TV c/o Juvvalapalem is a quaint one, then the heroine's name, Laxmi Rai, also raises some interesting questions. For starters who is this Rai?
Well, most of the media has described her as an import from Mumbai. Far from it, like the other more famous Rai --- Aishwarya ----, Laxmi has her origins in Kerala. She is barely out of her teens and has stunning looks along with a matching figure.
When Laxmi Rai stands in front of the camera for Kanchanamala Cable TV c/o Juvvalapalem, it will not be for the first time. The news is that she has already acted in a Tamil film that is set for release.
Endowed with beauty and brains, Laxmi is not uncomfortable in glamour roles. But she also says what many heroines says: "Anything is okay as long as it is not demeaning or vulgar". She is happy acting with Srikanth in a fun film. "I love comedies".
Laxmi Rai, part of the new breed of actresses who are confident and know what they are doing, says a heroine's life at the top is limited to a few years only. She is pragmatic enough to accept that "they will accept me till someone another beauty comes along".
