Genelia D'Souza plays a bubbly NRI girl called Pooja in 'Uthamaputhiran', a film which has made her join hands with Dhanush for the first time.

But this is not the first time for the actress to play the role, as she is the heroine of the film's Telugu original, titled 'Ready'. "However, director Mithran Jawahar has made some changes to the character", she says.

"It is girl-next-door character and the film is a complete commercial family entertainer. Ready is a super hit in Andhra Pradesh and I sincerely hope that the magic would be repeated in Tamil Nadu too", says Genelia.

On acting with Dhanush, she says, "He is a cool guy and we had a blast while shooting for ‘Uthamaputhiran’. I felt so comfortable to work with him. And he is indeed a good actor too".
