'Whistle', 'Khaidi' to rule Diwali business

Come October 25, the Diwali season market will be taken over by two dubbed movies: 'Whistle' and 'Khaidi'. These films are releasing amid favourable conditions, with no notable Telugu releases (Bithiri Sathi's 'Thupaki Ramudu' is a non-entity so far) in the fray.
'Whistle', which is 'Bigil' in Tamil, stars Kollywood's reigning superstar Vijay in the lead. Directed by Atlee, it will get a huge release in the Telugu States. East Coast Productions' Mahesh Koneru is positive about this sports drama, which can potentially draw female audiences in large numbers (because the hero coaches a female footballers' team in the movie). 'Sarkar' was a hit in Telugu and Vijay is more familiar to the audience than ever before.
'Khaidi', which is the dubbed version of 'Kaithi', stars Karthi in the lead. If 'Whistle' is musical, 'Khaidi' has no songs. If the other one has Nayanthara has the heroine, the Karthi film has no heroine. The father-daughter sentiment is expected to be its biggest draw. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, it's a promising film.
