Richa Chadda is finding herself in a happy space.
After being seen as a 'heroine ki sister' in 'Oye Lucky Lucky Oye', she has graduated to being a heroine in both parts of 'Gangs of Wasseypur'.
Even as she is busy accumulating good feedback coming her way, Richa is happy to confess that she is on the top of the world.
"Absolutely", gleams Richa, "Though I was launched in 'Oye Lucky Lucky Oye', honesty it was not a lead role.
I have been sheer lucky though that people recognize me even through that supporting role and the character of Dolly played by me managed to leave some impact. However it could have faded away from the audience memory if 'Gangs of Wasseypur' wouldn't have come at the right time.
Now this is what I can call as a lead role, not just because of it's length but also because of the kind of depth that it carries, something that many actors out there would love to have in their portfolio."
There was something indeed different and special about the Anurag Kashyap directed film that allowed Richa to break the three year long hiatus.
"When Anurag narrated the script to me and offered me the role, I was well aware that this was something really different and challenging I was getting in.
After all, how many women will actually encourage their husbands to visit brothels", laughs Richa, "I just made an impromptu decision and was on for the film.
I knew that this is the kind of set up that I was waiting for and hence there was no question of even thinking."
Well girl, you indeed made the right decision and now audience can't wait to see what you do in second part of the film which would be released within next 10 weeks.
