When Praveen Babi alleged Amitabh Bachchan of killing her!

Guess what is common in these movies - MAJBOOR, DEEWAAR, AMAR AKBAR ANTHONY, NAMAK HALAL, SHAAN, KAALIA, MAHAAN, DO AUR DO PAANCH, KALA PATTHAR?
Well you have guessed it right they are all Amitabh Bachchan hit movies but they all have one more thing in common and that is they all feature Parveen Babi, the stunningly gorgeous and sex siren who dominated the 70's as the most popular heroine. In fact her popularity can be gauged from the fact that she was Bollywood's Fist actress to have the honor of donning the cover of Time Magazine!
Daring to bare, Praveen Babi was bold and seductive. She portrayed sultry characters that were laced with sin, displayed skin and wore western attire. She gave a tough competition to her contemporary Zeenat Aman and also snatched the title of sex symbol from her.
Besides being bold and bindaas' she was indulged in many affairs quite famous being with Danny Denzongpa, Kabir Bedi and Mahesh Bhatt. In fact after doing multiple films with Amitabh Bachchan there were rumors of her affair with Bachchan too.
In his tribute to her when she expired Amiatbh Bachchan accepted that Praveen Babi was a great friend and he would often frequent at her place. He wrote, "She brought in a new, bohemian kind of leading lady to the screen. We'd work on all these films and go our own way. But because we belonged to the same social circle we'd visit each other, listen to music. She was a very fun loving, light-hearted person. Always full of joie de vivre!"
However the younger generation may be surprised to know that though Praveen and Bachchan shared a good relation Praveen had once alleged that Bachchan had tried to kill her! In fact she he even filed a police case and dragged Bachchan to court but the court gave Bachchan a clean chit as Parveen was suffering from Schizophrenia, a mental disorder aliment.
Speaking about the allegation Bachchan wrote, "The nature of her illness was such that she was terrified of people and was prone to all sorts of excessive delusions and hallucinations."
Dr. Puneet Dwevedi of Delhi Psychiatry Centre, said, "Praveen Babi was suffering from paranoid schizophrenia because of failure in love and no support from family. Had she derived compassion and concern from her dear ones or family, perhaps the illness could have been more effectively treated and the course of her life could have been different."
