When Pawan Kalyan's song haunted Vijay Deverakonda

It was on April 20 in 2000 that 'Badri', starring Pawan Kalyan, came out. It was helmer Puri Jagannadh's debut, a scintillating one at that. 'I Am An Indian', composed by Ramana Gogula and powered by Power Star's style, became a youth anthem. But it was some other song from the rom-com that haunted Vijay Deverakonda, the future Rowdy, for several days.
"I watched #Badri in the theater 20 years ago, I was in my 6th class. Sang 'Hey Chiquita' for a long time after," says the 'World Famous Lover' actor, who is currently doing 'Fighter' with Puri. "I miss you (Puri) and shooting our film now. I want you to stay healthy and kicking ass till I decide to retire as an actor," he writes.
'Hey Chikita', penned by Veturi and shot on the Pawan-Amisha Patel duo, epitomized the swag that the actor was becoming known for. Prakash Raj's career took a turn for good after this movie. Renu Desai, the other female lead, would marry Pawan soon after they fell in love with each other on the sets of the cult hit.
