When director Bobby narrated the script of 'Jai Lava Kusa' to NTR, the latter stood up, held the director's hands and only said that it's great. But he didn't give any commitment. That's because the fine actor that NTR is, he knew that it was not going to be easy to essay three roles, one of them being a negative one and, thus, more challenging.

He ruminated over how to portray Jai's role for a week. When he knew what he should do, he gave the green signal. For weeks and months since then, NTR has breathed the roles! So much so, he unconsciously enacted the role in sleep, becoming a somnambulist even.

Kalyan Ram says, "He was thinking as to how to deliver the Ravana act. Pranathi (NTR's wife) was worried when, on a night, Tarak got up in the middle of the night, walked towards his room's window, stammering and muttering something unconsciously. He was that involved in the character."

"I would like to see Tarak get a National Award for 'Jai Lava Kusa'. He will definitely get one. Nobody else could have done these roles," the brother adds
