"Pawan Kalyan is a leader with great social responsibility. I want to see him as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh." These are the latest words of Mayawati, whose BSP is in an alliance with Jana Sena ahead of the 2019 elections.
Way back in 2009, however, the BSP leader sang a different tune about the very same Pawan Kalyan and Megastar Chiranjeevi. Those were the days when Praja Rajyam Party was an important force in the united State of AP.
"The job of film stars is to dance and entertain. They can't do social service," Mayawati said during a rally in Hyderabad. Her comments came at a time when there were rumours about PRP possibly seeking an alliance with BSP.
BSP is too small a force in the Telugu States for many to care about what Mayawati had said about the Chiru-Pawan duo 10 years ago. Back then, she didn't even utter their names. Today, she wants to see Pawan as the CM. How things change with time!
