It really looks like heroes are turning to be stiff competitors for our singers. Apart from singing in their own films, many heroes, broad minded in their approach to music, have lent their voice to other heroes.

The most recent example to state would be actor Dhanush, who has sung along with wife Aishwarya for the Karthi-starrer ‘Aayirathil Oruvan’. Actor Kamal Haasan has himself lent his voice to other heroes earlier, including Ajith in ‘Ullasam’ and Dhanush in ‘Pudhupettai’. Actor Silambarasan is known for this, as the actor is trained to sing and does so with commendable ease for many films, including Srikanth’s ‘April Madhathil’ and Manoj’s ‘Yennai Theriyuma’.

Among the heroines, actress Mamta Mohandass has sung for Vijay’s ‘Villu’ apart from the Silambarasan-Vedika starrer, ‘Kaalai’. Andrea has also sung in ‘Anniyan’, ‘Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu’, and more recently, Trisha-Arya’s ‘Sarvam’.

Apart from these, many heroes like Vijay, Vikram and Bharath sing in their own films.
