She may have worn a saree in 'Jannat 2' and being a true Indian fantasy come alive for Emraan Hashmi in the film. However now many know that during her her growing years, she was a widely acknowledged tomboy.

Laughs Esha, "Yeah, really I was one tomboy during my teenage years. So if anyone stared at me, I wouldn't look away. Instead I would walk up to the guy, ask him what was he looking at and then challenge him to look at me closely."

Apparently it was this very trait that worked in her favour when she was auditioning for 'Jannat 2'. Since the character played by her is shown as an independent young working woman (she plays a doctor in the film) who knows how to tackle 'Roadside Romeos' (played by Emraan), the tomboy aspect helped Esha to perform before the camera.

"Yes, so I could further relate to the character," she says, "I have always believed in standing for myself instead of taking any nonsense. Though I have mellowed down from the exterior, internally I am still the same old Esha that I used to be."

Well, let's see if the characterisation is something similar or a bit different in her next film 'Raaz 3'.
