When Deverakonda was hurt by his father

Vijay Deverakonda was once clueless about his future. He had no idea what to do. Acting? Or, is it some other thing? His father became tough one day. He told the now-rising star that he should decide what he wants to do in life.
"The way my father told me, it was rude. He asked me to do something or the other for a living. He was ready to invest in me. He promised me to enroll me in a hotel management course if I wanted to become a cook. Or, he said, I can go to my grandfather's village and start doing farming if I wanted to," Deverakonda shares.
This is when the 'Arjun Reddy' and 'NOTA' actor decided to join theatre. "When I was part of a theatre group, my father alerted me to the difficulties involved. He told me it's much easier to become an IAS officer than be an actor.
If 400 people are recruited to the IAS every year, just one actor makes it in the film industry. And, five years later, four of them disappear and only one of them manages to survive, my father would tell me," Deverakonda recalls.
