There is a controversy raging over the citizenship of Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar who is holding a Canadian passport, and his detractors are targetting him alleging that he has given up his Indian citizenship.

Let's take a look at an episode involving AR Rahman. A Mayor of Canada once offered citizenship of that country to the Mozart of Madras. The maestro's reply is awesome and makes every Indian proud. Here is how his reply reads: "Thank you for your kind invitation to set up a base in Canada, Mr. Mayor. I am indeed very touched and moved by your gesture. I am well settled and happy in Tamil Nadu, India with my family, friends and the people there. Do visit our KM Music Conservatory when you come to India the next time. I will also look into interesting artistic collaborations between Canada and India."
