Tollywood actor Rajendra Prasad recently shared his thoughts on the movie Pushpa: The Rule. Speaking at the pre-release event for the web series Harikatha, he remarked that even a red sandalwood thief is now considered a hero, reflecting how the definition of a hero has evolved. Later, his comments resulted in trolls against him.
"We have seen the Treta Yuga, Dwapara Yuga, and now the Kali Yuga. In this era, stories like these are emerging. Yesterday, someone played a sandalwood thief as a hero. The meaning of the word 'hero' has changed."
However, Rajendra Prasad recently clarified his statement, which he claimed had been misinterpreted. During the press meet for his upcoming movie Shashtipurthi, he explained that his remarks about the role in Pushpa: The Rule were distorted.
He recounted a recent interaction with Allu Arjun who played the lead in Pushpa, where they laughed about the media buzz surrounding his comments. He elaborated that the concept of a hero has shifted over time. While virtues and moral values once defined heroes, audiences now embrace characters with flaws and darker shades.
Rajendra Prasad said, "Even Allu Arjun asked me about these comments and expressed that he knew that I do not have a negative intention."
