For, the one to pay a visit on him was no less than Richard Gere, the Hollywood star and now a global ambassador for many good causes.

Gere has been touring India to create awareness on AIDS in India.

Gere met Mohan Babu who is the president of the Movie Artistes Association.

Mohan Babu assured Gere of unstinted support from the Telugu filmdom for the cause he has taken up.

Gere has been traveling the length and breadth of the country, drumming up support of the case he is espousing. In the neighboring Chennai, he shared space with Kamal Haasan.

Mohan Babu also used the occasion to tell what the Telugu film industry itself is doing to further the cause. Gere also got the opportunity to see some clippings from Mohan Babu’s films.
