Security checks at airports can be too hard to stand. The CISF personnel manning the airports can, at times, turn insensitive because of their penchant to stick to the written rule. Virali Modi, a wheelchair-bound woman, has come in for a rude shock when she was asked to stand up by the security staff at the Delhi airport.

"I was asked by a security personnel at the airport to stand up from my wheelchair for security check despite my declaring that I can't stand due to a spinal injury I suffered in 2006. I have sent an email to the CISF HQ. I also called them up and registered a complaint. A Senior Commander from Delhi has called me up and apologized. But that isn't enough. Something more should be done. More training should be given to them. They need to be more empathetic. Want a written apology," Virali has said.
