Yesteryear Tamil cinema superstar Vijaykanth is not very popular in the Telugu States, unlike his contemporaries, Superstar Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan. Those of us who keep interest in Kollywood know him as that angry 'Captain' who can reduce traitors to ash in his films. Nagarjuna's 'Azad' was a remake of a Vijaykanth film. And 'Simhadri' was remade in Tamil with him as the hero.
It has been many years since the popular mass star has been into politics. Unlike a Balakrishna, he hasn't been juggling cinema and politics. But there are certain things that he shares with Power Star Pawan Kalyan.
"I don't watch my own films. I have acted in 150 films, and right from my initial days, I haven't seen my films," Vijaykanth says in his latest interview. It reminds one of Pawan Kalyan, who too makes similar statements often.
As a politician, he doesn't believe in distributing cash for votes. So also Pawan.
Vijaykanth thinks that being trolled is part of being a public personality. So does Pawan.
