The Making of 2.0 VFX Featurette, released on Sunday evening, is a delight in terms of how much effort went into merely conveying Shankar's vision to the entire cast and crew of the movie.
For the starters, a graphics-laden previsualization was created to let the key technicians and actors know what is expected of the output. Says Akshay Kumar, "When I heard the story, I wondered as to how we are going to pull off something so impossible in real life. You have to keep your imagination alive (all through the shoot). When you see so much green (the greet mat and all), you start turning green yourself. But with the greatest Indian visionary (Shankar), you are on the edge."
Shankar approached the best concept artists in the town to draw the characters. He is conscious of the fact that the "best VFX is that VFX which doesn't seem like one". "In '2.0', you are going to see whatever you enjoy in Hollywood movies," Shankar promises.
The director went with the full script locked. Superstar Rajinikanth is playing Chitti, whose antagonist is a very strong character.
