What made Priyanka do '7 Khoon Maaf'?

Some of the prominent actors who play Priyanka's various husbands in the film are John Abraham, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Naseeruddin Shah and Irrfan Khan. However the young woman, who was last seen in 'Anjaana Anjaani', stays on to be the central element of this rare women oriented film. Was that one of the main reasons for her to give her nod of approval to Vishal Bhardwaj?

What I loved about the story of '7 Khoon Maaf' was the pain and loneliness that made her the kind of woman that she eventually turned out to be, says Priyanka who plays the character of Susanna in the film, When Vishal sir gave me this short story to read, I could empathise with the pain and tragedy that she had to go through.

I look for films which challenge me tremendously. I am sure there is so much more that I can do in years to come, says the National Award winning actress who has been seen in films like 'Anjaana Anjaani', 'Kaminey', 'Fashion' and 'Dostana' in the past, The day I feel that I can't do anything more, only then would I even think of retiring. Till then, let me expand my horizon.

With lyrics by Gulzar and music by Vishal Bhardwaj himself, '7 Khoon Maaf' releases all over this Friday.
