Ever-smiling cinematographer and director KV Anand's death yesterday came as a shock to many and it was indeed a great tragedy. Actor Suriya, who has worked with KV Anand in films like Ayan, Maatraan and Kappan, had penned a very emotional note for him on his twitter handle.
The translation of the actor's tamil statement reads, "K.V. Anand sir, your death reminds us with a tight slap that we are going through a global pandemic. The fact that you aren't here with us causes immense pain the heart. In the grief of your unacceptable loss, unforgettable memories are coming back like waves. It is through the pocture you took, an amazing moment had happened where Saravanan became Suriya. I'm still in awe about your dedication to show a new face in the right angle. That two-hour photoshoot at the Madras Talkies office made me feel like, I was at a battlefield. You were the sole reason as to why people started placing their faith in me. Not just that picture, you were the one behind the camera when I first debuted on the silver screen as an actor.”
He also further added that, "The first light that fell on me was from your camera. It was through this light, that my future became bright. You've made an unforgettable contribution in my film career. Your guidance, love and care still motivate me to do well in my career and the success of Ayan made me everyone's favourite and I look back on that, with gratitude. I'm really lucky to have been associated with you for my debut film and your last film. You will forever live in our memories sir."
His sudden demise has certainly left a void in the cinema industry that cannot be filled easily. Many other celebrities have been posting their condolences on social media too and mourned the demise of the award-winning cinematographer and director.
