STR aka Silambarasan is a well known Ajith fan. Right from Manmadhan days he has never shied away from expressing his admiration towards Ajith and has always referred to him as ‘Thala’ the word used by every Ajith fan on earth.

In his interview to a popular daily, Simbu has spoken in detail, on what made him an Ajith fan. “I am primarily an ardent movie buff. Acting and star status come next to that. It is Ajith’s personality that has inspired me after Rajini. My father’s film Monisha En Monalisa in which I acted released on a day when Rajni Sir’s film also released. I went to Rajni sir’s film FDFS with friends and watched it blowing whistles. There is no wonder in Ajith coming after Rajni, to a position that deserves the whistle of the fan in Simbu. Because, Ajith is a hero in real life as well. His Good character has always inspired me towards him. While seeing Ajith, I feel like seeing myself in a different age”

After heaping laurels on Ajith’s real life persona, the young star is quick to add that with these words one should not conclude that he hates Vijay. Simbu has clearly stated that he always has a respect towards ‘Vijay Anna’
