In his latest interview, Adivi Sesh has said that the budget of 'Evaru' is Rs 10 Cr. Prasad V Potluri, one of the most passionate film producers, didn't think twice before splurging the huge money on this "remake". He reposed complete faith in Sesh's abilities, director Venkat Ramji's writing and execution capabilities, and the genre.
Usually, thrillers are modestly budgeted in the Telugu film industry for obvious reasons. But, PVP being PVP, he played a gamble. And it worked big-time. 'Evaru' has turned out to be one of the most-watched films of the year. Despite 'Ranarangam', it opened remarkably in Nizam and the US. And, since August 15, it has crossed the gross figure of even 'Goodachari'.
How come PVP dared to put at stake so much on a "remake"? Says Adivi Sesh, "The other day, Sony Pictures arranged a special screening of 'Evaru' for Bollywoodians and Hindi film critics. Everyone felt that the film has nothing much to do with 'Badla'. Ramji's script retained just one twist from the Spanish original 'The Invisible Guest'. I was stunned when the film critics told me that they have not seen anything like 'Evaru'."
