Pirates of the Caribbean star Johnny Depp is neck-deep in a financial muddle with his ex-managers from The Mandel Group (TMG) at the heart of the issue. The actor had filed a $25 million lawsuit against Joel and Rob Mandel of TMG early this year for having forged his signature on cheques and obtaining loans and obtaining rights to residuals from Depp`s movies, among a number of other allegations.
TGM was quick to fire back at him and call him a spendthrift who made bad financial decisions against their advice. Now, the group has released email exchange between the actor and themselves, wherein Depp says he would sell some of his property if it meant an improvement in the situation. Depp`s attorney says that there is nothing in these emails to disprove what a whistleblower from TMG mentioned under oath – that her former boss asked subordinates to do illegal acts to make profits for themselves from Depp. The attorney also claimed that the actor had made good financial decisions, as the value of the property he bought has greatly appreciated.
