Sushmita, a popular playback singer from Sandalwood, has committed suicide because of the troubles she had faced in her life post marriage, leaving the industry in shock. A suicide note has been recovered from her residence in Bengaluru, in which she mentioned the reasons behind the decision.

The 26-year-old Kannada singer had got married recently, and ever since she was married, Sushmita had been facing troubles from her in-laws who were demanding dowry. She had been hiding these tortures from her in-laws and now unable to bear the pressure has committed suicide.

Sushmita has left a suicide note where she has mentioned the people who are responsible for her suicide, and has also mentioned that legal action should be taken against them.

She also said that nobody from her husband's family should come for her final rites, and that only her younger brother has to perform her final rites. She apologized to her mother for the decision and has requested her to take care of her brother, in the letter.
