A few days after he was seen in a very feeble condition at the Marina Beach where M Karunanidhi's Samadhi exists, actor-turned-politician Vijaykanth was admitted to a hospital in Chennai.  He was in the ICU for three days, before being discharged after his condition became stable on Sept 2.  The DMDK, his political party, has urged the public to not believe in any rumours about his health.

This hospitalization came after a video clip of his Marina Beach visit had surprised many just a few days ago.  

The 66-year-old politician lost the 2016 Assembly elections rather badly.  This was a big fall for a leader whose party had won 29 seats in the 2011 Tamil Nadu elections. 

By the way, an interesting tidbit.  In 2016, Vijaykanth made this funny statement: "In the political movie, I am the hero, Karunanidhi villain, Amma villie."
