Who can forget the song "Kannae Kalaimane" brought alive on the screen by the great actor Kamal Haasan and by the childish innocence portrayed by Sridevi in the film 'Moondram Pirai' directed by the acclaimed cinematographer director Balu Mahendra.
One thing that is certain is that this song composed by the maestro Illayaraja which transcend the barriers of time with its heart touching and soulful lyrics will always be in the top ten songs in the history of Kollywood.
The song spread its magic through out India when it was dubbed in Hindi.
The talented lyrics writer Kavignar Kannadasan gave a gem of a song to the music lovers and to the Tamil film Industry too just before his demise in the year 1981.
He is no more there to drive us into a world of heart touching music with his great lyric writing abilities, but see who is there to continue his legacy?
His own daughter Visali Kannadasan has been called in by the same man who composed her father's last song.
Illayaraja who is composing the music for a movie called 'Dhanam' recently asked Visali to write lyrics for a song in the film.
The film is directed by G Siva under the banner of Sri Nandimedu Chelliyamman Movies and has the actress Sangeetha who was Chiyaan Vikram's pair in the commercially and critically appreciated movie 'Pithamagan'.
It is hard to find substitutes for certain talents and Illayraja who would have also though the same might have wanted the quality of the writing style of the late Kavignar Kannadasan to be reinvented in the present time and who else than his daughter can do it.
Visali Kannadasan who despite being highly talented stayed away from the film world has already written the song
"Kannanukku Enna Viruppam
Dhinamum Uthikkum Ponemalaro
Ithazhgal Uthirkkum Solemalaro
Sollu Kanna Sollu Kanna" .
Which was given voice by Bhavadharani, who is the daughter of Illayaraja.
It seems that this new lyrics writer is becoming one among the music maestro's favourite as she has got one more chance to work with Illayaraja in his next project 'Kangalum Kavipaduthey' which will be directed by Chandarnath and has new actors Rajith and Akash.
"Hereafter I will write lyrics for more songs and will speak in the pattimandram I will also fill the gap which was left by my father". That's what Visali have to say on her future in song writing.
Isn't that a great news for the lovers of music and film who still find her father's hit songs coming up singing all by itself unexpectedly in the least expected times.
Well that's what we can call as a real life and quality of a song.
