Madhura Sridhar Reddy made his debut as director through ‘Sneha Geetham’. He had a chance meeting over Internet with an Indian doctor, MVK Reddy, who was staying abroad and had a passion to produce a film. As they share similar thoughts with each other, Dr Reddy, even without meeting Sridhar Reddy personally, agreed to produce three films in a row with him. Their first project is ‘It’s My Love Story’. Here are the excerpts of an interview with Dr MVK Reddy. Over to Dr Reddy…

Tell us about yourself…

I am a native of a small village in Atmakur of Nellore district. I left for Madras to pursue education at the age of 10. Afterwards, I returned to Nellore and finished by doctor course in Tirupati. Dr Siva Prasad is two years junior to me. Tirupati Reddy, who had produced ‘Khaidi’ with Chiranjeevi is my classmate. I love films right from my childhood. Moreover, I have a passion to write plays and playlets during my college days. I had a little experience on stage acting too. I have a strong desire to become an actor. I have specialised in paediatrics and left for Botswana in South Africa in 1993. I am staying there for the past 18 years.

How was your interaction with Sridhar Reddy?

It is quite typical. We met each other over internet. I watched his movie too on Internet and felt that it was a nice film. I understood that he brought out a nice film and all the songs were quite melodious. After that, we both spoke over telephone and took a decision to bring out a film together. But we did not see each other face to face. One day, Sridhar Reddy narrated me a story and I liked it too. He had also decided on the title too. After 20 long years, I saw happy days in my life.

What qualities in him impressed you?

His way of talking, his lifestyle, his attitude and what not…? Moreover, he used to tell me even minute details about the film. I liked it too. So, I have decided to produce the film. Not just one, but three films. I am giving him the complete freedom. In other words, he is the producer and director for himself. I have complete confidence on him. I am not expecting any returns from the film. There was a good response to the talent search.

In recent times, I watched ‘Golconda High School’. I liked that film very much. My director had the guts to bring out one such movie. We are making efforts to launch the regular shooting of the film next month. We have taken a decision to release the film on August 19 at any cost.

Is there any reason to plan three films in a row?

Present day producers are coming and going with just one film. But one had to put some effort in this regard. In any business, one had to experiment, struggle and attempt for two or three times to discover whether he could successfully do it or not. We just can’t expect a success with just one attempt. That is why we planned three films in a row. If we achieve success, we will go forward and bring out more and more films. Otherwise, we curse our fate that God is not in our favour and we failed in our attempts.

Somehow, another new produce is making his debut into the Tollywood.
