A representative of the Yadav social group has threatened that people of his community will stall the pre-release event of 'Rangasthalam' to be held at Vizag's RK Beach on Sunday.
"How can they use the word 'Gollabama' in a song? The song refers to the word in an improper way. Our tradition and culture have been constantly attacked by upper caste people. If you want, replace the word with the name of your caste. If the word is not removed from the song 'Rangamma Mangamma', we will disrupt the pre-release event on Sunday," he said.
He further said, "We have already conveyed our stand to the makers through newspapers and social media. Yet, they are yet to remove the word. We are going to protest against the film on March 30 not just in the Telugu states but also in Karnataka."
"Don't be stubborn. You will suffer consequences. Don't play with us," he warned.
The representative didn't listen to lyricist Chandrabose's explanation. "The word actually refers to a small creature that flies. All villagers know what it means," the lyricist said.
