Congress president Rahul Gandhi has assured farmers across the country that the 133-year old party would leave no stone un-turned to ensure that their rights and future are protected at all times at any cost.
 
Rahul Gandhi’s assertion was intimated yesterday in the form of his ‘Tweet’ even as the country observed the ‘national farmers’ day’ yesterday.  A regular on social networking sites, Rahul took to his Twitter account yesterday to say “We would undertake all possible measures to protect farmers’ rights and future.  It’s not merely a promise but my duty too to say this.  On the eve of farmers’ day, I salute you all.  We survive only because of you!”
 
Rahul had been continually accusing the BJP-led Centre of not allowing farmers their due share in society.  He had already threatened that he would launch a nation-wide struggle to force the Centre to mandtorily call off agriculturl loans availed by farmers across the country.
 
Rahul has also cited Congress’ steps of waiving farmers’ loans soon after it ascended the throne in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh where it upset the BJP and captured power in the just-concluded Assembly polls.
