Rashmi Gautam can't get more frank. In this exclusive, no-holds-barred chatathon with IndiaGlitz, the 'Jabardasth' girl answers a range of questions with a friendly charm as well as an admirable honesty. Catch the hot actress talk about 'Thanu Vachenanta', alleged differences with Anasuya Bharadwaj, link-up with Sudigali Sudheer, why she admires Radhika Apte, the hypocrisy of our people, bedroom scenes and more.

The genre is zombie comedy. The title is 'Thanu Vachenanta'. Who is coming, and what are you up to in the movie?

I am the one who is coming. It's a suspense for now as to for whom she (Rashmi's character) will come as zombie, and why. It's around this point that the film revolves. Why she comes back is a gripping point.

Looks like you have done more comedy than what you have done in the past. What's your say?

My life itself has been a comedy in the sense that my career started with a comedy show. 'Jabardasth' has been a big turning point. In 'Thanu Vachenanta', because I am in a particular situation, comic situations happen to people around my character.

Sharing screen space with Dhanya Balakrishna, was there competition or rivalry on the sets?

She has the hero tailing behind her all the time. She has got three songs. There is no competition between us. It's clear that she has more to do in the film than I do. I just have one song.

You have done a sensuous song in both 'Guntur Talkies' and 'Antham'. Is there any such thing in store here as well?

I am not talking about 'Antham'. Unlike in 'Guntur Talkies', it's not a duet here. There is going to be a song with a lot of oomph factor. It's a solo performance by me. 'GT' lo iddaram voopam. Ikkada solo ga vooputunna. (Laughs).

In your last interview to IndiaGlitz, you said that you were expecting to be offered something like fifteen item songs after 'GT'. But that hasn't happened if we are not wrong.

I have got a lot of offers after 'GT'. If I have to do such a song, it has to be next to an established actor or in an established banner. By the way, they are not called item songs any more. They are special songs.

It's said that there have cropped up differences between you and Anasuya after the latter has done big-ticket projects. What is the truth?

There are no differences between us. Since we both host the same show on different week days, such gossips tend to be created. Both of us are adults, and mature people. Our goals are different. The equations are very much the same as before.

While she has bagged films like 'Soggade Chinni Nayana' and 'Kshanam', you have been into small-ticket movies. Does that bother you?

She has been part of big production houses.. She has worked next to big stars. But I like to be the princess of my heart. If I do a film, I want to be known through that film.. I don't mind doing character roles, but a role should have a definition of its own, certain importance and duration in the film. I don't want to do blink-and-gone roles.

On that note, do you think 'Thanu Vachenanta' will be a game-changer for you?

'TV' is an experimental film.. Without doubt, it's the first-of-its-kind.. We hope that it's a game changer.. It's a small-ticket film made by a new director and a new, dynamic producer. If it does well, it's going to help a lot of us. But again, it's in the hands of the audience.. We are promising 100 pc entertainment, on our part.

It's said that Chalaki Chanti is helping you bag movies. Is it true?

Chanti is helping me bag movies? How many movies does he have? He is not helping me bag movies. The only thing we do when are together is sit and gossip.

What do you gossip about?

We gossip about IndiaGlitz. (On a lighter vein)

Despite you issuing clarifications, you are time and again linked up with Sudigali Sudheer. Ever wondered why?

It's good to be trending on You Ttube and internet sites for something or the other. It's just another topic which people want to talk about. As long as I am trending, it's fine with me. Keep on doing that. Make me more famous. Talk about my relationships.. Talk about me without make-up.. Talk about anything.

Good that you are cool about gossips. Which gossip have you enjoyed the most?

Not enjoyed, but there is a gossip that made me feel little disappointed. It was about me getting caught in a sex scandal, a prostitution racket. Of course, it was total rubbish.. I feel the media should be little more responsible and not fall for click-baits.

To the weak-minded, such baseless rumours can be devastating. You come across as a strong-minded one for sure.

I have always had this kind of attitude and it's both a plus and a minus. It's a minus because not everybody has the same wavelength as you.. The other person may not find your attitude healthy.

Now that you are doing woman-oriented films, between Anushka, Kangna Ranaut and Radhika Apte, who would you like to emulate?

Radhika Apte. She has a lot of guts.. I really appreciate the way she emerges from all the situations.. She has a very healthy, realistic approach toward the kind of cinema she does.. She is very dedicated. The belief she puts in her films is inspiring. She is a game-changer in terms of the roles she plays, and the films she chooses.. Her convictions are great.. You need a lot of guts to be who she is and what she does. I do follow a lot of videos of her. She is comfortable with her body.. Others who are not comfortable with their own skin accuse her, as she said the other day.
