Amidst endless rumours that Tamil superstar Vijay's 'Master' is heading for an OTT release, an official statement has come from the makers of the big-ticket release.
On Saturday evening, Lalit Kumar of Seven Screen Studio said in a statement that they indeed have an offer from an OTT platform. "A reputed OTT service provider has got an offer for us. We, however, prefer a theatrical release, which is the need of the hour for the industry to survive the ongoing crisis," the statement said.
The producer also urged exhibitors to stand with them and provide their support to revive the industry. "We hope to reach out to you soon with a good news," it adds.
There is no mention of a Pongal release in the statement. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film has Vijay Sethupathi in the other main role.
