In yet another shocking turn of events, the administrators of Apollo Hospitals, Chennai have informed the High Court of Madras that they were not in possession of blood samples of former Tamil Nadu chief-minister Jayalalithaa.
Jayalalithaa, who was rushed under mysterious circumstances to Apollo Hospital on Greames Road, Chennai on the night of 22nd September, 2016, never returned alive as she was declared ‘dead’ by the Hospital on the night of 05th December, 2016. Medical bulletins issued from time to time by the Hospital gave plenty of hope for AIADMK cadres and Jayalalithaa’s die-hard supporters before the Hospital dashed their hopes.
Bangalore-based Amrita had moved the High Court asking it to declare that she was the legal daughter of the late ‘Puratchithalaivi’ and even requested the Court to exhume her mother’s mortal remains to conduct a DNA test to prove her claim. The High Court then asked Apollo Hospitals to say if it was still in possession of the late leader’s blood samples so that they can be matched with that of Amrita’s.
In a reply filed by its legal wing representative, Apollo Hospitals simply stated that it didn’t have any medical records of Jayalalithaa, who passed away 17 months back.
