Yash Raj Films most awaited film Dhoom 3 is going to be first ever Bollywood film to have a brand new effect along with a special release...
Yesterday, YRF announced that the action thriller Dhoom:3, will be digitally re-mastered in the immersive IMAX format and released in IMAX theatres across India and select global locations next year.
The film marks the first Indian local-language production to be released in IMAX.
Speaking about this collaboration, Yash Chopra said, "We are indeed happy to announce our association with IMAX for the additional release of DHOOM:3 in this exciting format next year. Added to the anticipated thrill that the film promises, this IMAX experience will give it an all new edge of the seat dimension altogether.
We look forward to closely working with their team over the coming year."
Produced Aditya Chopra and directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, Dhoom:3 stars Abhishek Bachchan, Uday Chopra, Aamir Khan and Katrina Kaif. The film tells the story of the adventures of Jai Dixit, a no-nonsense cop, and his scatter-brained partner, Ali.
Echoing similar views, Greg Foster, Chairman and President, IMAX Filmed Entertainment stated that they are excited with their partnership with YRF and looking forward to work with the makers of this highly anticipated Bollywood blockbuster.
"With its riveting action set pieces, global locales and stunning visuals, Dhoom:3 is an ideal film to take advantage of our immersive format as we begin our initiative with Indian-language/Bollywood films," added Foster.
The IMAX release of Dhoom:3 will be digitally re-mastered into the image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience with proprietary IMAX DMR (Digital Re-mastering) technology.
The crystal-clear images coupled with IMAX's customized theatre geometry and powerful digital audio create a unique environment that will make audiences feel as if they are in the movie.
