Actress Mamta Mohandas revealed in an interview to a Malayalam channel on how she conquered the dreadful life-threatening disease cancer two times in her life. Mamta Mohandas first had the attack of cancer when she had already established as a leading actress/singer in South India. The fight was more horrible than what we see in reel life. Her inner strength and perseverance played a pivotal role in facing the gruesome days of her life.

When cancer attacked her the second time she had to take a risk by volunteering herself for a medical experimentation if Los Angeles. In fact she was a guinea pig and she was the youngest of the batch of 22 who volunteered for such experimentation. There she stayed alone and went through the treatment. She didn`t want her parents to see this pain and it was the decision she took by herself and she didn`t want her parents to be blamed if something happened to her.

She felt a change when she took the first dose of medicine. In three or four months she could feel that she was getting cured. Mamta pledged her body for this experimentation as part of clinical trial of the medicine. The actress believed that she will win over the disease and this medicine will be a life saving for many in the world who are suffering from this disease.
