Kollywood filmmaker N Lingusamy recently made 'The Warriorr' with Ram Pothineni and Krithi Shetty. He is in the news over an alleged cheque bounce case.
The director runs a production house named Tirupathi Brothers in the Tamil film industry. The banner ran into financial troubles due to various issues and faced cases in court. One of the cases was filed by PVP Cinema, which is known for quite a few Telugu movies.
The final hearing came up at the Saidapet Court in Chennai on Monday. The judge sentenced Lingusamy and his brother Subash Chandrabose to six months imprisonment in connection with the check bounce case.
The director was supposed to make a film for PVP and it was supposed to star Karthi and Samantha in the lead. But the project didn't take off. PVP took legal action due to the non-repayment of the loan amount and the cheque that the brothers had issued returned without funds from the bank.
Sources say that Lingusamy and his brother have decided to go for an appeal and have started legal formalities.
