'Warning' to lead the show amidst new arrivals
- IndiaGlitz, [Thursday,September 26 2013]
Last few weeks had seen some sanity at the box office with just two or at maximum three films releasing at the box office. However mayhem returns with as many as half a dozen films hitting the screens this Friday. These are 'Warning', 'Super Model', 'Raqt - Ek Rishta', 'Prague' and 'Maazii'.
Out of these, the only film that stands a chance is 'Warning'. An Anubhav Sinha and Sunil Lulla production, the film's uniqueness lies in its genre (Survival), plot (youngsters caught in the middle of sea) and presentation (in 3D). The promos have seen good response coming their way while the overall marketing has been decent too.
However on the flipside it isn't one of those quintessential Bollywood entertainers which means there is a niche audience for it. Moreover, its entire starcast is made of largely newcomers which means all would depend upon very strong word of mouth taking it through. Seeing a selective release for itself, one expects a start in the vicinity of 30% with increase in footfalls dependant on the final content on display.
Same can't be said for either of the remaining four releases. While 'Prague' has seen multiple changes in release dates with no real escalation in promotion or shift in marketing strategy, rest neither carry any credentials nor any promotional push to even warrant an all-India release.
Incidentally, except for ÂWarning to an extent, none of the other releases may even get an entire week of run for them since ÂBesharam would hit the screens on Wednesday (2nd October) itself, hence invading a large count of screens.
