Social media hasn’t been completely safe for women. Abuse of women, rape threats, and slut-shaming of celebrities happens quite often in the dirty world of Twitter and Facebook. Bullying actresses is a common sight.
The Hyderabad police has taken note of the situation and are taking steps to ensure that cyber bullying of female actors doesn’t go unpunished.
They have encouraged female celebrities and women in general to lodge complaints against abusers, promising immediate action against abusers. We have seen how a youngster named ‘Smiley Nani’ has been arrested by Cyberabad Crime Police for making unsavoury comments on Disha, who was brutally raped and murdered in Hyderabad a few days ago. Similar arrests will happen if any actress is abused or slut-shamed.
It’s good that the voice of female celebs has been heard in the male-dominated world.
