Looks like Pooja Hegde is keen on doing women-centric films or at least films that give prominence to the female perspective. During her stint at the Cannes Film Festival recently, the pan-Indian superstar actress remarked that she admires powerful women and, as such, portraying meaty female roles is something she wants to do.
“I want to do more films for women because I genuinely think that we are not represented enough," the multi-lingual actress said.
As quoted by a news agency, Pooja added that she wants to emulate powerful women when she sees powerful female characters in films. "You want to be them, and I hope I can be a small part of that in terms of inspiring girls in India to just dream a little bigger and tap their inner potential," she said.
In Telugu, the 'Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo' star is going to shoot for Mahesh Babu's 28th movie, to be directed by her 'AVPL' maker Trivikram. There is this buzz that she is also doing Vijay Deverakonda's 'Jana Gana Mana' later this year. In Hindi, Pooja is doing 'Cirkus' and 'Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali’.
