The box office was on fire in the US on Saturday. As of 10 PM EST, Chiranjeevi's 'Waltair Veerayya' amassed $349,598 from 307 locations, bringing the total to $1,341,369. Spare 'Roudram Ranam Rudhiram', this is the only Telugu movie in the US to gross more than $350K on its first Saturday at the box office.
On the other hand, Nandamuri Balakrishna's 'Veera Simha Reddy' grossed $73,004 from 241 locations, bringing the total to $921,672. It's a matter of time before it grosses more than one million dollars.
The two movies are going strong in the US, with 'WV' stealing a mark over Balakrishna's movie. The latter, directed by Gopichand Malineni, grossed Rs 68 Cr (worldwide) in the first three days (read Thursday, Friday, and Saturday). Its share is nearly Rs 42 Cr.
The Sunday collections for both biggies are very good in the Telugu States as well as in the US (advance sales).
