Ruckus rocks TN Assembly: Voting yet to begin

The TN Assembly goes for the vote of confidence motion for the Government led by Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy. The Governor has asked the CM to prove his majority in the Assembly within 15 days time after swearing him in as the CM.
The Assembly hall turned out to be a den of commotion as multiple factions far and against the government resorted to various forms of protest against conducting the vote today.
Earlier the O.Panneer Selvam and his supporters had requested the speaker P.Dhanapal to conduct a secret voting. However the speaker rejected that request.
DMK Working President M.K.Stalin opposed the conduct of voting today. He asked why the voting is being conducted today in a hurried manner, while the Governor has given 15 days time to prove majority.
The OPS and his supporters, including Mylapore MLA R. Natraj sought time for MLAs to meet the people of their constituency before voting. They said that the voice of the public needs to be heard.
The sole MLA of Indian Union Muslim League also sought a secret voting.
The mikes of all the members opposing the conduct of voting today have been allegedly muted. The media has not been allowed to telecast the events happening in the Assembly hall.
In retaliation some DMK members and others allegedly resorted to violent means to register protest. The party's woman MLA Poongothai allegedly stood up on the bench and argued with the Assembly speaker to conduct a secret voting. DMK members Ku.Ka Selvam allegedly sat on the seat of the speaker.
The mikes and the seat e of the speaker were allegedly broken by the protesting MLAs. The protesting MLAs threw the mikes on each others.
The Speaker Dhanapal blamed DMK for disrupting the assembly proceedings to conduct the voting process. He abruptly stopped the forenoon session and said the Assembly will convene again at 1 PM after a 45 minute break.
