Many cars have come and gone in this world. Iconic cars that would make every man and woman want them. One such car is Volkswagen's Beetle. Since its production began in the 1930s the car has garnered a wide following for its unique design and flair.
Okay, enough eulogizing. Here’s the bad news: Volkswagen has announced that it is going to stop the production of Beetle from next year. The German company has also made plans to produce two special edition variants of the car before it totally stops producing the Beetle next July.
No wonder that this news will strike a melancholic chord in the hearts of Beetle fans. It is hard to think about one of the most beloved cars will stop its production. First, the car was simply called Volkswagen. It was the advertising agency Doyle Dane Bernback which gave the iconic ‘Beetle’ tag to the car.
Fun Fact: Beetle has its own 1968 Disney movie of its own called the ‘Love Bug’ in which the racing car Herbie had a mind of its own.
