Popular television anchor VJ Ramya is known for her roles in movies such as Mani Ratnam’s ‘OK Kanmani’, Suriya’s ‘Massu Engira Massilamani’ and Jayam Ravi’s ‘Vanamagan’.

Now thactress is all set to act in an important role with Sauthirakani in an upcoming movie titled ‘Sanga Thalaivan’. The film which is directed by Manimaran is touted to be based on the hardships faced by the handloom workers in Erode, Salem and Tirupur districts. The film which is reportedly based on a novel has Samuthirakani essaying the role of an association leader aka ‘Sanga Thalaivan’.

Velraj is the lensman for the project while Venkatesh has handled the editing for the movie. Talks are on for finalising the rest of the cast and crew which is expected to be announced shortly. ‘Sanga Thalaivan’ is being bankrolled by famed director Vetrimaaran.
